You wrote a book on gin?
I didn’t mean to write a book on gin and I certainly didn’t mean to write one that I would share with others. It was COVID and I had been recently laid off and looking for a job. At the end of the day, I would start making a cocktail with my favorite spirit gin. Instead of my regular gin and tonic, I decided to try and up my game with new cocktails.
I would look up recipes in a book or online. Then set to gathering the ingredients and necessities and by that time the book would shut, I’d struggle to find my place then it would close again as it wasn’t meant to lie flat. It was frustrating and often so much so that I would end up just making a gin and tonic. Online, I had screens go blank, ads take over, or there were often so many options I wasn’t even sure where to start. After a while, I decided I would just write down recipes in a notebook so I would always have them easy to reference and on hand.
While I started this one of my friends said “Vince, you like a lot of different gins. You’ve shown me and a number of our friends how gin is great, why don’t you write a little book?” So a simple recipe book turned into this resource come to life, which I am very happy with.
